Slidecast: Bina – Accelerating Data-Driven Healthcare

In this slidecast, Narges Bani Asadi from a new Startup called Bina presents: Bina – Accelerating Data-Driven Healthcare.

In 2008, a renowned team of researchers at Stanford and UC Berkeley came together to solve a critical problem for cancer researchers who were severely constrained by their existing computing capabilities for large-scale data analysis. Through this work they created a new approach to the integrated co-development of statistical algorithms, software and hardware for high performance data analysis. The result was a dramatic improvement in the accuracy, computational efficiency and cost of data analysis. The team founded Bina Technologies in 2010 to bring this approach to market.”

Slidecast: Relativity – Big Data Meets Computer-Assisted Review

In this slidecast, Jay Leib from kCura presents: Relativity – Big Data Meets Computer-Assisted Review. For legal teams facing caseloads with millions of documents to review, the Relativity software effectively filters out the noise so that humans can find relevant evidence.

Using Relativity Assisted Review, you can train Relativity on relevance and key issues by coding statistically sampled subsets of documents. Relativity’s text analytics engine suggests coding decisions for the remaining documents in the case, based on the small subset of examples. You can then prioritize the relevant documents and repeat the process with a more focused sample set for increased accuracy. Review time and costs decrease rapidly when you use text analytics to magnify the efforts of your review team.”
